So you drank too much last night and you woke up today feeling like you’re on the verge of death. We’ve all been there and said “I’m never drinking again” and then proceeded to break this vow only a few weeks later. But you’re not here for a lecture on good habits, everyone just wants to know how they can go back to feeling normal as soon as possible. Since I have been there myself many times I will give you my list of the best food for hangover cure.

But you’re not here for a lecture on good habits, everyone just wants to know how they can go back to feeling normal as soon as possible. Since I have been there myself many times I will give you my list of the best food for hangover cure.
McDonalds
Eating McDonalds to cure a hangover may feel like the definition of shame but people do it because it works. The beauty of eating McDonalds to cure a hangover is that your food will be fast, salty, and cheap, plus there's a wide variety of items with the medicinal properties that one looks for when trying to cure a hangover. Some of the best options include hash browns and fries for the fact that they are light and starchy which will leave you feeling better than you did before but if you truly are hungry and think you can handle keeping food down then the obvious choice is to opt for a sausage egg Mcmuffin.
Pedialyte
Pedialyte is not just for babies that need nutrients, it's also for adults who are babies and can't handle a hangover. Pedialyte is like Gatorades more attractive older sibling, it may be harder to find and more expensive but it just works better and lets be honest you’ll do anything to make this hangover go away. Since it’s a drink one may argue that it shouldn't be included on the list of the best foods for a hangover but once you combine it with an Advil as the solid portion of the meal this combination is unmatched. Toast Eating toast for a hangover is the food equivalent of doing the bare minimum, it tastes pretty bland and it's not very filling so it's not going to make you feel any worse but it won't make you feel that much better. Sometimes simplicity is the best though and not doing much work to cook or paying any money to buy food is the best option.
Bacon and Eggs
Bacon and eggs are the gold standard for hangover foods, it's filled with protein and it's salty. The only downside is that unlike toast or ordering McDonalds this takes actual effort and work so you may need to power through the pain to have some. Each person's hangover cure food is different, in fact, I’m sure if you were to ask a European person what their go to foods are they would give you a completely different list.
Personally, my suggestion is toast and a healthy sleep, although some hangover food may make you feel better at the moment it is definitely not going to solve all of your problems. So before you find yourself in this position next time make sure to have some food on hand, drink lots of water before bed, and be ready to have a nice long sleep. I'd love to hear your thoughts though so write me an email and tell me your favorite hangover food!
